this is an entry for the "Genesis Interpretation Contest"

probably not gonna win, but i did enjoy working with the concept.
i like beginings. u look around and u find urself drowning in hope and impatience, wondering where ur heading. u make choices: and those choices define who u are and what will be the next path ull take. Time passes u by and things change. and in that moment, u see urself in the need of making another decision. and this new begining becomes and end. or maybe just a part of the path -its only a matter of semanthics. the funny thing about life is that everything is new: the seconds that come after that old moments, the days that fallow the weeks and the feeling after those sad emotions that used to hunt u. even death is new -and even it is a new begining.
The idea behind this piece is to connect two really strong moments present in the Bible: the Fall and the creation of the Universe. I figured me bitting the apple would be to much of a cliclê, so i chose the lamp that represents both knology and the so very famous "Fiat Lux" (let there be light).
swallowing the light.
vouchsafing the coming night.
fire to devour.
I take it in to feed my power.
lambent to the scene.
regrets are for the lesser queen.
I take it all to seal;
my guarantee of what is real.
warm, and so I drain
the fire, desire and the pain
that is drawn to me.
that is spawn to be.
swallowing the fire
a curious thing, desire.
I take in your release
to find the bind that shall not cease.
